How to Buy The Right Boardroom Conference Table For Your Business...

Before YOU Buy YOUR Next Conference Table, Be Sure To Read On For Some Important Information ...

Whether you are moving into a new office or are redecorating an existing one, a conference table is one of the essential pieces of furniture for the office.  Before you purchase your next office boardroom conference table, be sure to consider the following:

  1. What is the size of your conference room?  Take measurements of the room and buy the appropriate conference table.  A rectangular shaped room might warrant a racetrack conference table or a boat shaped conference table while a square room would do better with a round conference table.  Determining which table would fit best in the space given is your first priority.
  2. What is the seating capacity needed for your meetings? Your types meetings held in the conference room may change with time.  The number of people you're planning to have in a conference room at any one time is an important consideration as to the ultimate choice of conference room table.  If needs are expected to change, perhaps a modular conference table would suit your business best.  Since modular tables are flexible not only in its configuration, you have the option of "adding-on sections" to your existing conference table over time without incurring a high upfront cost for a bigger one.
  3. What is your budget? Your budget decides what brands and materials are used in the manufacturing process.  Different materials are used in the manufacture of conference room tables and it is important to choose a matching color and material to go along with your decor.  Does the look of metal or wood look better? You will find that laminate is going to be a cheaper alternative to a solid wood table.  Well taken care of, a laminate table can last for a long time but with heavy duty use it might not last as long as you would like.  How about something different - glass top conference tables?  Realize though, that more expensive meeting tables doesn't always mean better.  Factor in office furniture replacement costs when buying your meeting table so you are aware of the true costs of furniture ownership.  One that falls apart soon afterwards is not a great value considering the time and expense you spent to order it.  A worn out or falling apart meeting room table also creates a bad first impression for your business.  You have to buy a table that meets your individual business needs rather than your own personal whims.
  4. What conference table chairs go best with the table your are choosing? When you are buying a conference room table, be sure to buy the matching conference room chairs to go along with it.  Often, it is best to buy from the same company offering the boardroom table because they'll have exactly what you need in stock and ready to ship.  You will be able to receive the table and chairs at the same time so you can immediately start using them.
  5. What other conference room considerations besides the conference table are needed?  Depending on the size of your conference room and its dimensions, you may want to install a sound system to ensure everyone in the room is able to hear the speaker clearly.  Also, consider the room lighting.  If you intend to use a projector, dimming near the screen may be necessary to improve visibility.  Everyone at the conference table should have sufficient lighting in order to have a good presentation as well.

Being clear about your specific conference room requirements will go a long way to narrowing your list of possible office conference tables and help set the right tone for all your business meetings.
