Racetrack Conference Table

While planning and furnishing your conference room, you will want to consider a racetrack conference table.  It gets its name from its elliptical shape, reminiscent of a racetrack.  They are available in a wide variety of sizes, designs, colors, and materials, so you will be able to find one that meets the general style of your specific office space.

There are some advantages to a racetrack conference table, apart from its sleek, professional appearance.  The first is that there are no uncomfortable points at which to sit because no one will be stuck sitting at a corner, with only a fraction of the table space for taking notes or perusing materials.  This also eliminates the potential need for sitting at the leg of the table.  Not only does this unlucky person have little table space for materials, but he/she cannot pull the chair up to the table because the table leg is there.

With a racetrack conference table, there is a strong, decorative beam that supports the table, and is capped at either end by wide, sturdy legs.  The table top extends amply out from the legs, giving conference attendees lots of leg room, no matter where they are sitting.  This structure allows people to “squeeze in” comfortably, seating more people to sit at the table than would be possible for a square or rectangular table.

Many of these tables also come with leafs that can be added to make the table longer and allow for even more attendees.  This is an excellent feature for a company that is growing because the conference furniture will flex with the size of your business.  It is also advantageous in an office where out of town colleagues or clients may potentially come in for a meeting; your conference room will be suitable for the number of employees you have every day, and also for the number of attendees you may have for a regional meeting.  If your goal is to add a professional, diverse conference table that can seat many people comfortable, a racetrack conference table may very well be your best choice.
